Moose Dives

On Thursday we went swimming with the Riggs family. You can see the pictures Jenny took here . Jenny also filmed a couple of my dives off the diving board. You can see those here and here. Notice Brianna at the bottom of the picture turning away with disgust after each dive.

Spanish Fork Rodeo

Last night Brianna and I went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo. We got there pretty late, but it was still fun. The picture below shows a cowboy riding one of the bulls. Bri and I got dressed up like rodeo folk so that we'd fit in.

Correction

It has come to our attention that the photo of the trombone player in the post titled "Fourth of July" (shown below) isn't actually Greg, as the blog suggests, but is in actuality another member of the marching band. Brianna and Spencer express their regret to the Haws family for this misunderstanding, but would like to state in their own defense that all band nerds look pretty much the same anyways.

Parasailing at Lake Tahoe

On the last day, me and Spencer and Alexis and my mom got to go parasailing. My other siblings and their husbands went the day before while me and Spencer babysat. The boat was called "The Shark" and it was a perfect day for it. The water was smooth and the sky was clear. We went up 1200 feet! It wasn't very scary, it was more peaceful. The funnest part was at the end when they slowed down the boat and dipped us in the water, then suddenly hit the gas which sent us shooting up high again. We got to take our camera up and we took some pictures. Again, thank you mom and dad, we really appreciate everything.

This is a picture of the casino's on the Nevada/California border.

This is a picture of the golf course where they were having a Celebrity Golf Tournament. We even saw Kevin Nealon walking around the town! (He's on Happy Gilmore and Saturday Night Live.) He tried to hide himself behind his baby.

Here's the "Shark".

Here's our shadow.

Here's a sexy beast, my husband, Spencer (aka moose). He is being very brave, especially considering that he is afraid of heights (or rather falling from them).

Here's the pretty water and shore.

Here's our feet dangling 1200 feet above the water!

Here's Heavenly Ski Resort.

The pretty scenery.

And a close up of the rope saving our lives!

Hanging Out at the Cabin in Lake Tahoe

My parents rented a cabin at Lake Tahoe for the week. It was up in the woods and the scenery was beautiful. There were no signs of fire anywhere nearby. The cabin was brand new and very spacious. It even had a hot tub! We had so much fun hanging out together. There were a few stressful moments due to all of us staying under one roof, but we managed to pull through. We played lots of fun games, we did karaoke, we played cards, we cooked and cleaned together, we watched movies, and joked a lot! It was good vacation. And Brock finally gave me a name "B". It was so much fun to be with our niece and nephews and siblings. In the pictures you can see Jake's famous "plumber bum." Spencer is driving Alexis's new Mitsubishi Lancer (much to her dismay). I'm holding Troy on the deck. And Natalie and Karlenn with their kids singing a-ha's "Take On Me". You can tell that they are singing the high pitched part. Thanks mom and dad, it was a blast!!

Tubing at Lake Tahoe

We took turns hanging out on the beach and going on the boat. Some people water-skiied and wake-boarded, but mostly we tubed. We had so much fun! We had tournaments and "surfed" and pushed each other off and helped each other stay on when the driver was being crazy. We even went backwards once! We went slow and easy with the little kids, but poor Brock fell in anyways on accident. And Dylan and Jake fell in when dangling their feet. Good thing they have to wear life jackets all of the time. If you look at the pictures you can see me flying off of the tube, you can see Spencer going by himself and falling off, you can see me and Lex and Spence surfing (I'm the base for them to balance). The best ride was Alexis, Natalie, and Spencer. They had some amazing saves. You also can see the little boys going with us and you can see that we had a blast!! In fact, the day wore Brock out and he fell fast asleep on me. Spencer also got burnt to a crisp because he didn't put on sunscreen like his wife told him to. I had to lather him in aloe for the rest of the week.

Hanging on the Beach at Lake Tahoe

The beach at Lake Tahoe was really fun to hang out at, especially for the kids. They got to play in the water and build sand castles and swim and play on the tube, etc. The sand was really soft and powdery. The weather was beautiful, it stayed in the eighty's most of the week. The scenery was beautiful. You can see the pine trees in the background. And the water is the prettiest shades of blue I've ever seen a lake be. The water was cold, but you got used to it quick and then it felt good. We all had a good time.

Leaving for Tahoe...

We're leaving for Lake Tahoe for a week... if it's still there. We'll update you when we get back.

Fourth of July

We went up to Idaho for the Fourth of July. We drove up on the 3rd and hung out with the Haws' who all got Jimmy John's sandwiches. The next day we went to the Haws' house to watch the parade. Most of the Hale family joined there, too. Warren got us an eight foot sandwich to share and Joyce had gotten other snacks for us to enjoy. We had snow cones from the 9th Ward. It was really hot, but we had fun. It's such a great tradition. Mindy colored her hair for the holiday with blue streaks. We got to see Greg in the Idaho Falls Marching Band. We screamed for him like he was a movie star. We also saw Brianna's uncle Kurt with the Boy Scouts. Brianna was holding the two girls, all of them in red, and practicing because we'll probably have twins someday... Later that day, we went to the Hale's for a BBQ. We jumped on the trampoline with a sprinkler underneath with our nephews. That evening we went to the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball game with Warren, Becky, and Kenna. And that night we went to the fireworks down at the river. The next day we drove back home. We stopped in Logan on the way down to see Brianna's best friend's new baby, Tristan Tucker Fife. He is so cute! Once again, another exhausting "vacation".
