In Utah with Jenny and Mindy, July 2009

We got to spend some of our trip home last summer in Utah with Jenny and her family. Mindy came down to visit too.

Fourth of July 2009

I know that we have been the worst bloggers ever. I have been working two jobs and going to school. I just haven't been able to keep up. I am not promising that I will be consistent, but I sure am going to try.

Last summer, we got to go home for the Fourth of July. We spent our time with family and friends and food. I'm not kiddin'. I have never eaten so much in my life. We would eat with one group of people, then an hour or so later eat again with another group of people. We probably ate 10 huge meals a day. It was barbecue after barbecue. And delicious Mexican food. They don't have any good Mexican in Buffalo, so we have to eat as much as possible when we go home.

We did a lot of fun activities like swimming, going to the zoo, playing outside, etc. It was so much fun to see my sisters, parents, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. We had so much fun! Thank you everyone!!

Here are some pictures when we were saying goodbye. My grandpa played a CD that he loved with a guy who sang Con te partiro or "Time to Say Goodbye". I kept hearing this song in my head as we went around to everyone's house to say goodbye.

This is at the Haw's house. The parade goes down their street every year and we sit out front and watch it. Joyce decorates her house so cute and Warren gets a huge sandwich and Homely makes snow-cones with the ward. It is full of traditions.

The neighborhood that my parents live in do big fireworks the night before the Fourth. It was really fun. It reminded me of when we were little and we did illegal fireworks with the Whittingtons across the street.

I love watching the fireworks with Spence. It is really romantic to me. We also went down to the river for the Melaluka firework display with Kar and Ben. It was really fun. Again, a tradition. We walk from Spencer's parent's house so that we don't have to be stuck in traffic for an hours afterwards.

We got to spend time with Spencer's best friend, Bush and his family. This is his daughter. Doesn't she have beautiful eyes??

We really had a great time last year. We were so broken-hearted that we didn't get to make it home for the Fourth this year. We are going to do our very best to make it next year. I don't think that I could go another year without going home. I have only not gone home on the Fourth 3 times in my whole life. So as long as my residency can be worked around it, we will be there.

Fourth Anniversary

On June 23, 2010...we celebrated our Fourth Anniversary.

Spencer and I were meant to be together. We both knew it from the moment that we saw each other. And every time that we were together, it just felt right. It feels like home. I know without a doubt that I belong in his arms.

We have been so blessed to have each other. We have been through many trials together and on many adventures together. This past year has been full of memories. I hope to be able to fill you all in on what we have been up to. The most important thing is that we love each other more than ever. And we are very, very happy.



It is so nice to still be so crazy about each other. We can't stand to be away from each other. People still think that we are newly weds because we are always cuddling and kissing. That's just us. A couple of crazy kids in love. And we always will be.





I am so lucky to have such a good man. Spencer has so many wonderful qualities. I am grateful to know that I can always trust him. And it is such a blessing to have a priesthood holder by my side. I am so excited to spend eternity with my best friend.

This year on our Anniversary, we both had to work. Spencer had spring mini-camp and I had to work and then teach CPR to the Young Women for Girl's Camp. We both got home at 10:00 pm. We ordered food take out and watched a movie and fell quickly asleep. We both had to work again the next day, but we got out earlier and we were able to go to a delicious, fancy restaurant called David's Grill. It was fun to dress up and go out on a date. They had excellent steak and the creme brulee was to die for! I have never had one so good.

I got Spencer an authentic BYU helmet for our anniversary. Spencer worked with the BYU football team for 5 years. And he loves to collect helmets of all sizes.

Spencer got himself...I mean...Spencer got ME a Wii for our anniversary. I kept saying how much fun it would be for us to play for the last few years. When he went home to visit his family they played it and Spencer loved it. So he got it. We haven't gotten a lot of games yet, but we enjoy the ones it came with enough.

The games that we love to play the most are the ones that you can buy on-line. They have the old school Nintendo games on it! We love playing Mario 2 and Mario 3, Bubble-Bobble, Tetris, and a whole bunch of other great old games. I think it is fun because it is nostalgic. It is funny how much we remember and how our fingers still remember what to do and when. Spencer is better at it than me, but he had more of the games and played more than I did.

Spencer sent me flowers on my anniversary. I got them at work, which is always fun because I get to brag about what a great guy I've got.

The arrangement had lillies, gerber daisies, sweet peas, and yellow roses with pink tips. These are some of my favorites and some of the ones I had in my wedding bouquet.
