Homecoming: Air Force vs. BYU

Saturday was the homecoming game for BYU. Once again, homecoming has come and gone...and Spencer still hasn't asked me to the dance. I've been waiting since high school...

Before the game I had my first GRE class. It's been a while since I've been in school, and it was kind of strange. The class ended early, so I walked over to the field and they let me on the sidelines. I hung out with Spencer and the other managers. I kept trying to get them to realize that they needed a team nurse to help the team physicians. So far, they've shown no interest. But I'm gonna keep trying. You can see my battle wound on my forehead from this past week's indoor soccer game. I hold nothing back when I play... I also had a semi-black-eye, but I'm wearing my shades so you can't see it.

The best part was watching my baby work...I love it!

He's so sexy...
He's here with Mick's son, Shawn.

And warming up the running backs.
Looking for me at half-time.

Throwing the football at half-time.

The game was against Air Force and ended in sweet victory: 31-6. The weather was the perfect temperature, however at the end of the game it started to rain really hard. It was still a lot of fun. I watched the first half with Spencer's friends from Idaho, Bush and Kerrie. They drove down to spend a couple of days with us. We went to the Macaroni Grill after the game. I felt bad that they had to visit us while Mia was ovulating....

I watched the second half with Spencer's mission friends Dan, Jordan, Dave, Brooke, and Aaron. Both seats were really good. I got some good pictures.

The game was sold out and the crowd was loud and excited. There were lots of people dressed up, and the crowd did the wave.

This is the marque as the players come onto the field.

The players in the tunnel before running on the field.

The players cheering before the game.

The BYU flags and the players running on the field, with the band. We really miss Mikey playing in the band. I even saw some band members as I was walking to the stadium, they gave a shout out to him...

This is the players doing the Haka warrior dance before the game.

Our defense played really well. We really stepped up in this game. Here we are blocking a kick.

And sacking their quarterback.

Here's a shot from the seats on the north side, where I sat the second half.

Our offense still struggled a little. Max Hall had a few wild throws and got sacked a couple of times. This is when he got hurt and Gaskins played one whole play (his hand is still broken).

This is the last touchdown. You can barely see where the player turned and put the ball in the end-zone.

This is at the end of the game, honoring the military personnel.

And the BYU air force with the cannon. There was also a fly-by at the beginning of the game by a HUGE plane that looked like it was going to run into the stadium. It was kinda freaky.

Naa-na, na-na, Naa-na, Hey, Hey, Hey...Goodbye Air Force. Next stop...New Mexico.

Oculus Reparo...??

Mia has a habit of ripping things up and burying them in the backyard.

This week's victim: My glasses.

No spell could ever fix these. They're beyond repair. Now if I only had a spell to make my dogs disappear...

BYU vs. Tulsa

This past weekend we went to Oklahoma to play Tulsa (This picture was taken from the top of the stadium looking towards the city).

This is from the top of the stadium looking at the field. Notice the castle-like architecture on top of the other bleachers.

In this picture you can see me in the back ground putting out the jerseys (Steve's on the left).
J.P. drove all the way up from Oxford, Mississippi to be at the game. J.P. and I traveled together for three seasons as managers. Now he's at graduate school at Ole Miss.
The locker room set up was really crappy. To get to our locker room you had to go up this big ramp, so that meant that we had to push all of our heavy trunks across the field and up the ramp.
After the game we had to take our stuff out the back of the locker room and up this ramp... it sucked.

The game sucked too. We lost 55-47. I hate Oklahoma.

BYU vs. UCLA

Here are some pictures from game day. I took the picture of the stadium and my dad took the pictures of me during warm ups and the players doing the haka.

On Saturday we played UCLA. The first half was awful. We played like crap, we turned the ball over, and the refs were screwing us left and right. At halftime we were down 20-3. Then at the start of the second half we came out and scored two quick touchdowns to make it 20-17.

We were driving to score our third touchdown when Hall got blind sided and fumbled the football. UCLA scored in the last minute to make it a final of 27-17. They were a good team, but I felt like we could have competed better. We shouldn't lose another game the rest of the season.

Ben Olson (or how some are calling him; Benedict Olson) beat us. We'll get our revenge next year when they come to Provo. Too bad I won't be there to see it.

A day in SoCal

Friday (the day before the big game with UCLA) we went to the Rose Bowl to set up the locker room. Greg met us at the hotel and came along to give us a hand.
Here are some pictures of Greg and I on the field.

Yeah... Greg's taller than me now...

They just got done doing renovations on the Rose Bowl's locker rooms because they eventually want to host another Super Bowl there.

Now the locker rooms are huge and have many flat screen T.V.'s on the walls. But the stadium itself is still pretty old and run down.

After we did the stadium set up my dad, Greg, a couple of the other managers, and I drove down to Anaheim to see an Angels baseball game. One of our trainers used to work for the Angels, so he was able to get some free tickets for us. It took over two hours for us to drive from the Rose Bowl to the Angels Stadium because of traffic.

We still arrived at the ball park in plenty of time to watch the players warm up. I got some really close up pictures of some of the Angels' players.

We got helmets that were full of french fries (really healthy).

After we ate the french fries Shawn and Greg wore the helmets.
Our seats were right on the 3rd base line so we almost got hit by a couple of foul balls. The

Angels ended up winning the game in extra innings 3-2.

Brianna and I have a goal to go to all of the major league stadiums. If she were there we could have marked this one off of our list. I guess we'll have to come back some other time.
